Ally, thank you so much for sharing this. My article didn’t even touch on the part of the population who use opioids as a necessity and are not addicts in the general sense (or at all) nor did it touch on those who became street addicts after having no other pain reduction options…as there are so many people in this category.
I really feel for you and your situation. I hope you have found reliable and very effective pain treatment, and if you have not and the disease is terminal, controlled opioid use is definitely doable, but as you know, physicians are terrified of having their license revoked for following their own instincts and commitment to proper care, especially for dire need patients.
Do you mind divulging your diagnosis? I would like to research it.
